Ceramic Filter Applications

Ceramic Filters are being used throughout a wide cross section of applications. With their robust capabilities, together with their long lifespan, many new and traditional industries are turning to ceramic filters as the answer to deliver high levels of performance.

The following are just some of the key applications that ceramic filters are being used in. Contact us for more information as to how Cerafil Ceramic Filters can support your application needs.

Industrial Multi-Pollutant Ceramic Filter Systems

For over two decades, ceramic filters have been at the heart of some of the most demanding pollutant removal systems available in today’s industrial markets. With the full capability to achieve multi-pollutant reduction of PM (>99.99%), together with NOx, SOx, HCl, VOC, HAPs, Dioxins & Furans >95%, the single-pass through systems are proven to deliver the highest levels of continuous emissions reduction. When compared to multi-stage solutions such as ESP- Scrubber-SCR or Baghouse-Scrubber-SCR combinations, ceramic filter systems, not only provide an enhanced layout and design, but deliver a more cost-effective solution that can support your long-term compliance needs.

Hot Gas & Syngas Filtration Systems

Ceramic Filters were first used to provide virtually 100% reduction of particulate and dust in hot temperature applications. With the filters capable of operating in temperatures of up to 900C (1650F) , they have been used across a wide range of industries to ensure maximum & continuous particulate removal. For many of today’s newer solutions, including carbon capture & storage (CCS) and syngas, ceramic filters can provide the highest levels of PM reduction to minimize any downstream equipment issues.

Retrofit of Baghouses & ESP to Multi-Pollutant Systems

As regulations and legislation drive more extensive reductions of a wider range of pollutants, the simple answer is to add additional equipment to meet these needs. However, layout restrictions and costs often prohibit this, creating a wide range of issues concerning future compliance needs. However, by converting your existing baghouse or electrostatic precipitator (ESP) to ceramic filter technology, not only do you achieve the same if not greater particulate control, but you have the capability to meet additional pollutant reduction.

Maritime Multi-Pollutant Systems

As part of several pioneering projects in California, Cerafil ceramic filters have been utilized to mitigate multi-pollutants for ocean-going vessels when docked in ports. Delivering the same, high performance as our traditional, land-based systems, these projects meet the high levels of PM, NOx and SOx removal required by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
